Born in Indonesia of Dutch descent, Roel has traveled the world over but now calls our community his home. He has turned a fascination with fantasy into a reality. His work develops from an inner thought or vision into a masterful work of art that can sometimes visually overwhelm the viewer. He describes his art as "a composite of his dreams". Roel's portfolio contains elements of fantasy, realism, Portrait art and science fiction. Utilizing pen and ink, painting, sketching or using digital technology, he is as comfortable creating a perfect likeness of his subjects as he is with creating one from the depths of his own thoughts. Roel is truly a remarkable talent with a profound imagination, and he is an artist who becomes completely immersed in his craft.
